Product Specialist

As Product Specialist you will provide applications, technical and service support for Montrose’s vision inspection systems that are installed in commercial food production facilities world-wide.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer support requests, remotely diagnose machine issues, determine follow-up actions
  • Remotely assist field service technicians in on-site diagnosis and completing corrective action
  • Recommend and coordinate spares parts necessary to perform repairs
  • Proactively recommend necessary service and maintenance schedules
  • On an occasional basis, perform machine calibrations, diagnostics, and repairs on-site
  • Assist with new machine installation and commissioning
  • Participate in customer discussions and visits as technical support to sales
  • Participate in customer machine acceptance tests
  • Support sales activities by collecting and qualifying new customer requirements and machine feature enhancements.
  • Prepare and conduct measurement application tests on customer samples for demonstration and analysis
  • Assist with organisation and preparation of service documentation and procedures
  • Assist with support case / ticket management, and documenting of support activities
  • Participate in unit and system testing by assisting production with machine commissioning

Requirements:

  • College or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering / Technology or related discipline
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly skills
  • Patient and attentive interpersonal communication along with balanced time management skills
  • Capable of working independently as well as in close collaboration with other support personnel, operations and engineering development staff
  • Experience in industry / product support is an asset.
  • Ability to travel (20% typical maximum) primarily within North America, and occasionally other regions
